Zano Rolls Back One Month of Blockchain History to Address Inflation Bug
The Zano development team has rolled back the network to block height 3,833,000 as part of an effort to correct an inflation bug. The rollback removed approximately one month of transaction history, revising an earlier announcement that had described a rollback of about one day.
Rollback Extends Beyond Initial Estimate
Zano initially said the planned network rollback would affect roughly 24 hours of blockchain activity. In a subsequent statement, the team clarified that the chain had already been reverted to block height 3,833,000.
As a result, transactions recorded after that block were removed from the active chain. The change effectively erased about a month of transaction history, making the scope of the rollback significantly larger than initially communicated.
Action Targets Inflation Bug
The rollback is intended to address a software bug that affected Zano’s monetary supply. By reverting the chain to an earlier point, developers are seeking to remove transactions and state changes associated with the issue and restore the network to a state before the bug’s impact.
Blockchain rollbacks can affect balances, transfers and other network activity recorded after the selected block height. Users and service providers relying on Zano’s transaction history will need to account for the revised chain state.
