Binance Pay to Enable USDT Spending at PayPay Merchants in Japan

Binance Pay will allow overseas users to spend USDT at most merchants that accept PayPay in Japan through a payment arrangement with HIVEX. Participating stores will receive settlement in Japanese yen.

USDT Payments Through HIVEX

The initiative will allow eligible international Binance Pay users to use Tether’s USDT stablecoin for purchases at PayPay-supported merchants. USDT is designed to maintain a value linked to the U.S. dollar.

Transactions will be processed through HIVEX, connecting Binance Pay users with participating merchants in Japan.

Merchants to Receive Yen

Although customers will pay using USDT, merchants will receive Japanese yen. The settlement structure is intended to allow stores to accept payments without directly holding the cryptocurrency.
