Bitcoin News: LG CNS, POSCO Deploy Live Trade Data on Injective

POSCO International and LG CNS have launched a pilot on the Injective blockchain to tokenize live trade accounts receivable, using real-time data sourced from POSCO International’s overseas subsidiaries. The initiative aims to bring greater transparency, speed, and efficiency to cross-border trade finance by moving key commercial data on-chain.

Pilot brings live trade data on-chain

The pilot converts actual accounts receivable—unpaid invoices from international buyers—into digital tokens recorded on Injective. By anchoring live subsidiary data to the blockchain, the project seeks to enable real-time verification of invoices, reduce reconciliation errors, and create a standardized data layer that can be shared securely among trading partners and financing institutions.

Tokenized receivables can be more easily tracked and audited, potentially shortening settlement cycles and improving access to working capital for exporters. The companies did not disclose additional technical or financial details, but the use of production trade data marks a practical step toward on-chain trade finance.

Addressing legacy trade bottlenecks

Global trade processes often rely on fragmented systems, manual document handling, and delayed data exchanges across borders. These frictions can slow down invoice verification, raise financing costs, and complicate risk management.

  • Data integrity and traceability: On-chain records provide a tamper-evident trail for invoices and payment states.
  • Operational efficiency: Programmable logic can automate checks, notifications, and status updates across stakeholders.
  • Liquidity options: Digitized receivables can be more readily packaged for financing or collateralization, subject to regulatory compliance.

Why Injective

Injective is a layer-1 blockchain focused on financial applications, offering fast finality and low transaction costs. Built within the Cosmos ecosystem, Injective supports smart contracts and interoperability features designed to facilitate specialized use cases such as decentralized trading and asset tokenization. For enterprise pilots, these characteristics can help support high-throughput data anchoring and verifiable record-keeping.

Context: RWA tokenization and South Korea’s digital push

The pilot aligns with a broader industry movement to tokenize real-world assets (RWAs), a trend that has drawn interest from financial institutions seeking improved settlement rails and more efficient capital markets infrastructure. In South Korea, large enterprises and technology providers have been exploring blockchain-based solutions across supply chains, finance, and digital services, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize data sharing and compliance frameworks.

About the companies

POSCO International is a global trading and resource development company within the POSCO Group, involved in steel, energy, and diversified trade operations across multiple regions.

LG CNS is the IT services and consulting arm of the LG Group, focusing on digital transformation solutions spanning cloud, AI, and blockchain for enterprise clients.

Outlook

If successful, the pilot could inform broader adoption of on-chain receivables processing, subject to technical validation, partner onboarding, and regulatory considerations across jurisdictions. The project underscores growing enterprise interest in applying blockchain to specific, data-intensive segments of global trade.
