BIX Card Expands Crypto Spending From 29 to 49 U.S. States

BIX Crypto-Enabled Visa Card Available in 29 U.S. States

BIX says its crypto-enabled Visa card is currently available to eligible users in 29 U.S. states, with plans to expand coverage to 49 states within the next six to eight months. The rollout remains subject to regulatory approvals and the readiness of the company’s payment partners.

Card Links Spending to Stablecoins

The card allows users to fund purchases with USD Coin (USDC) or Tether (USDT) held through a self-custody wallet. USDC and USDT are stablecoins designed to maintain a value close to the U.S. dollar.

When a cardholder makes a purchase, the transaction is settled so that merchants receive fiat currency rather than cryptocurrency. This structure allows users to spend digital assets at participating Visa merchants without requiring merchants to directly accept or manage crypto payments.

Expansion Depends on Approvals

BIX is targeting availability in 49 U.S. states over the next six to eight months. The company said the timeline depends on obtaining required approvals and completing implementation work with its payment partners.

Availability may vary by jurisdiction and user eligibility as the card program expands.
