BTCS Prepares DeFi Platform to Power Liquidity for Tokenized Stocks

BTCS Inc. said its Imperium DeFi unit has completed the preparatory compliance steps required for potential reliance on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Covered Firm exemption.

Compliance Notice and Disclosures Published

According to the company, Imperium has submitted the required notice and published the related disclosures associated with the exemption. The steps are intended to prepare the unit for activities involving tokenized securities, subject to applicable regulatory and operational requirements.

Liquidity Services Not Yet Operational

Imperium has not started providing liquidity for tokenized equity. The company said those services cannot begin until a qualifying Tokenized Securities Venue becomes operational.

Tokenized equity refers to shares or equity interests represented digitally on a blockchain or similar technology. A Tokenized Securities Venue would provide the infrastructure needed to support related trading or liquidity activities under the applicable regulatory framework.
