Chainlink Launches CCIP 2.0 With Expanded Cross-Chain Features
Chainlink has launched CCIP 2.0, an upgraded version of its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol designed to support the movement of digital assets and data across multiple blockchains.
New Verification and Transfer Features
The upgrade introduces optional third-party verifiers, giving users additional flexibility in how cross-chain transactions are validated. CCIP 2.0 also supports faster-than-finality transfers, which are intended to reduce the time required to move assets between networks.
According to Chainlink, the new version includes more flexible execution capabilities, allowing applications and infrastructure providers to tailor how cross-chain instructions are processed.
Focus on Regulated Assets
Chainlink is positioning CCIP 2.0 for banks, financial institutions and asset issuers seeking to transfer regulated assets across multiple blockchain networks. The protocol’s built-in compliance tools are designed to help organizations apply regulatory and operational requirements to cross-chain activity.
The company said the upgrade aims to provide institutions with a broader framework for managing interoperability while retaining control over verification, execution and compliance processes.
