Circle to Acquire Tazapay to Expand USDC Cross-Border Payments
Circle plans to acquire Tazapay, a cross-border payments company that processes approximately $25 billion in annualized volume and provides payout infrastructure across more than 100 markets. The deal is expected to broaden the reach of Circle’s USDC-based payments network.
Expanding USDC Payment Infrastructure
Tazapay offers payment and payout rails designed to support international transactions across multiple regions. Its network could give Circle additional infrastructure for facilitating cross-border payments using USDC, the dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle.
Broader Access Across Global Markets
By combining Tazapay’s market coverage with Circle’s digital currency infrastructure, the acquisition would expand the markets and payment corridors available to businesses using USDC for international settlements.
The transaction adds to Circle’s efforts to develop stablecoin-based payment services for global commerce.
