Ethereum Price Prediction: When Will ETH Hit $5,000 and $10,000?

CoinCodex Forecast Suggests Ethereum Could Take Until 2028 to Reach $5,000

Ethereum’s price underperformed expectations during the most recent Bitcoin-led rally, raising questions about whether the cryptocurrency can eventually break above the $5,000 mark. According to a forecast from CoinCodex, Ethereum may not reach that level until the third quarter of 2028.

Ethereum’s Previous Rally Fell Short of Expectations

During the last bull market, Bitcoin climbed above $100,000, prompting some investors to expect Ethereum to follow its historical pattern of outperforming during later stages of a market cycle.

However, Ethereum’s rally was comparatively limited. The second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization only moved marginally above its previous all-time high, by approximately $100, and remained below $5,000. The performance disappointed investors who had anticipated a stronger advance.

CoinCodex Forecast Places $5,000 Target in 2028

CoinCodex uses an algorithm that evaluates multiple market factors to generate potential price projections across different time frames. Its Ethereum outlook remains broadly positive, but the model projects that significant new highs may take several years to develop.

The forecast places Ethereum’s maximum price for 2026 at approximately $4,445, below the $5,000 threshold. Based on the projection, Ethereum would not cross $5,000 until the third quarter of 2028.

The estimate differs from forecasts by some market analysts who expect Ethereum to surpass $5,000 as early as 2026. As with all algorithmic price projections, the estimate is subject to change and does not guarantee a particular market outcome.

Reaching $10,000 Could Take Significantly Longer

CoinCodex’s forecast suggests that the $10,000 level could remain out of reach for much longer. Rather than reaching the milestone before 2030, as some analysts have predicted, the model’s chart does not show Ethereum approaching $10,000 until after 2040.

If the projection remains accurate, Ethereum would require more than a decade to reach the five-figure price level. Such a timeline would depend on factors including market demand, network activity, adoption, liquidity and broader cryptocurrency market conditions.

Near-Term Forecast Remains Positive

Despite the longer-term timeline for reaching $5,000 and $10,000, the model’s short-term outlook is more optimistic. It projects double-digit gains for Ethereum over the next month and estimates that the cryptocurrency could potentially double over the following three months.

The forecast also identifies a potential price of approximately $4,298 during the second quarter. These projections reflect the model’s current assumptions and can change as market conditions evolve.
