Moscow Exchange Lists XRP Perpetual Futures for Qualified Investors
Moscow Exchange began trading perpetual futures linked to XRP on Sept. 22, adding the token to a derivatives lineup that already includes bitcoin, ether, Solana, and Tron. The contracts are available only to qualified investors.
Five Perpetual Contracts Begin Trading
Russia’s largest exchange listed five cash-settled perpetual futures contracts under the following symbols:
- BTCUSDF — bitcoin
- ETHUSDF — ether
- SOLUSDF — Solana
- XRPUSDF — XRP
- TRXUSDF — Tron
Unlike traditional futures, perpetual contracts do not have a fixed expiration date. The contracts are settled in cash and track the performance of their respective cryptocurrency indexes, allowing participants to gain price exposure without holding the underlying assets directly.
Access Limited to Qualified Investors
Despite the listing, retail traders cannot access the new contracts. Moscow Exchange has restricted trading to qualified investors, limiting participation to clients who meet applicable experience, asset, or other eligibility requirements.
The restriction means the XRP contract’s availability on the exchange does not represent a broad opening of cryptocurrency derivatives trading to the Russian retail market. Instead, it provides an additional regulated-market instrument for eligible participants seeking exposure to XRP and other digital assets.
XRP Joins Major Crypto Assets on the Exchange
The listing places XRP alongside several of the largest cryptocurrencies by market presence on Moscow Exchange’s derivatives platform. The addition expands the exchange’s range of cash-settled cryptocurrency products while maintaining access controls for the market.
